In this first episode of Safe, Secure & Empowered 24/7, host Rita Peter interviews Monica Braine, a member of the First Nations people, Asceta born of the Papa Lakota tribe. Her talents and gifts as a journalist led her to host a podcast 3 days a week titled “Native America Calling. In this conversation, Monica gives insight and information about MMIW, the hurdles and barriers brought on by jurisdictional issues that cause crimes against First Nations women to fall through the cracks. Even though the interview was recorded on December 23, 2021, the topic is still relevant and important to bring to the forefront because it is still an ongoing problem in the land.

Street Grace: Unmasking Human Trafficking
